# Network Cleaner

> Network Cleaner is a Chrome extension with two products in one: clean your LinkedIn network (bulk remove connections at a deliberately human pace) and tame your LinkedIn inbox (manage and filter conversations). It solves what LinkedIn won't do at scale: no bulk actions, no useful filters, 20 connections per page, and an inbox with no "who owes whom a reply" view.

Network Cleaner runs entirely in the browser. Connections, messages, and conversations stay on the user's computer and are never uploaded — not to Network Cleaner's servers, not anywhere.

Available on the Chrome Web Store. Works on any Chromium-based browser: Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc, and others.

## How it works

- Browse: See all connections in one place. Sort by connection date, follower count, name, or headline. No more endless scrolling on LinkedIn.
- Enrich: Background enrichment adds follower count, company, school, location, and recent activity to each profile. Visiting a connection's profile on LinkedIn also refreshes that person on the spot. Profiles are parsed correctly whatever language LinkedIn's interface is set to, though the extension's own interface is English-only. Progress bar shows completion status. Configurable: enrichment order (newest-first or oldest-first) and daily pace limit.
- Search: Text search across name, headline, company, and school. Advanced operators: AND, OR, exact phrases, exclusions. Date filters: before, after, or between a date.
- Filter: Filter by connection date, follower count (more/less than), or location (city, region, country) with autocomplete. Special filters bulk-surface prunable accounts: restricted accounts, no profile picture, small networks, memorialized ("in remembrance") profiles, placeholder headlines (filler like "-" or "\_\_\_" instead of a real one), and hidden surnames (last name reduced to a single initial). Once the inbox is synced, also filter by whether you have ever messaged someone.
- Select: Checkboxes, shift+click ranges, or "select all matching." Selection persists across filters and pages.
- Tag: Create custom color-coded tags. Organize connections before removing. Bulk tag multiple connections at once.
- Remove: Queue hundreds of removals. Runs in the background one at a time with smart delays, while the browser is open: about three days per 1,000 connections. Pause and resume anytime; a sleeping computer resumes where it left off.
- Export: Export selected connections to CSV with tags. Columns: name, headline, company, school, location, city, region, country, follower count, connection count, profile URL, connection date, memorialized status, last activity, activity type, tags.
- Stats: Network analytics dashboard. Total connections, monthly additions, removal count, network growth over time net of removals, top countries, top headline keywords, follower distribution, and tag breakdown.
- Inbox: Sync your LinkedIn inbox locally and reply in the live thread embedded beside the list. Filter by unread, starred, or who owes whom a reply ("your turn" / "their turn"). New messages appear in realtime. Each conversation has its own link, and a connection's row shows the threads you already have with that person and opens them directly.

## Trust and safety

- Who builds it: Francis R. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/francis-r/), founder since October 2025, a software engineer since 2011, based in Paris. He writes the code, ships the releases (50 since January 2026, the recent ones dated on the changelog) and answers support himself at team@networkcleaner.com. Paid for by its users: no investors, no ads, no data to sell.
- Track record with LinkedIn: removals happen one at a time with smart delays between each. So far that is more than 65,000 connections removed (counted August 2026, rounded down, running since January 2026) and LinkedIn has never rate-limited, blocked, or CAPTCHA-challenged one. This measures how LinkedIn answered the requests, not how LinkedIn treats any individual account; the terms promise a mechanism, not an outcome.
- Speed: deliberately slow by design. About three days per 1,000 connections, running in the background while the browser is open. The user's part takes about five minutes.
- No automated outreach: Network Cleaner never sends connection requests, endorsements, or messages. Removal does not open the person's profile, so no profile view is left behind. The inbox embeds LinkedIn's real messaging thread, so anything sent there is typed and sent by the user.
- No password, no account: it uses the LinkedIn session the browser already holds. No signup, no credential to hand over.
- Permissions: Chrome shows two at install. "Read and change your data on www.linkedin.com and www.networkcleaner.com" (LinkedIn is where the connections and messages are; networkcleaner.com is the product's own site, used to detect that the extension is installed and to link a purchase to it) and "Read your browsing history", Chrome's blanket wording for any extension that can see which page a tab is on. No other website is accessible. Browsing history is never collected, stored or transmitted.
- What leaves the computer: product analytics (EU-hosted) tied to the user's LinkedIn account ID and profile basics, and payments via Stripe. Connections, messages, and conversations are never included. An email address is stored only if the user buys, for the receipt and access recovery.
- Continuity: there is no server, so an installed copy keeps working. Paid users can export the full network to CSV at any time. Network cleanup is a one-time purchase and does not depend on a subscription continuing.
